“Cloud Kaleidoscope is a steel contemporary sculpture that challenges the order of lines and angles, eventually bringing the focus up to the concentric circles. These lines and angles bring the viewers eyes skyward, drawing in the drama of nature that exists in a circular frame. It’s up to the viewer to use their imagination to define what the frame represents.
I truly believe that art is essential for the flowering of the human psyche and that it enriches our lives and society as a whole. Public art is an integral part of making art available to the people regardless of their socio-economic background. As a sculptor, I am gratified by participating in various public arts programs. I mostly work with metal but sometimes I will juxtapose stone and metal on certain pieces to obtain varying effects. I enjoy using found objects and discarded metal to re-purpose in creating my sculptures. This gives the metal a new life from which it was originally intended. Sometimes the metal I find drives my vision, while other times I have to procure the metal that makes my vision become reality.” Anthony St. James
