Mark your calendars for January 13 at 12pm at the Georgetown Public Library Friends room for a presentation by Marissa Austin, “Putting the Fun in Fundraising”!

Marissa Austin currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Williamson County, where she oversees the strategic planning, management, and fundraising of the organization. CASA Wilco exists to empower community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect to find loving, safe, and permanent homes.

Prior to CASA, Marissa served as the Executive Director of the Georgetown Palace Theatre. Her accomplishments included a multi-million dollar capital campaign and modernizing the operating systems of the organization.

Marissa has also served as the Director of External Relations for the Rivers Institute at Hanover College (Indiana), the Director of Alumni Relations at the University of Dubuque (Iowa), and the Director of Administration at her alma mater, Concordia University, St. Paul (Minnesota). She has also enjoyed teaching Theatre, Communication, and Management courses for Concordia University, St. Paul.

Marissa along with her husband Joe, the head football coach at Southwestern University, and daughter Līlīlehua reside in Georgetown, Texas where she serves as the secretary of the Georgetown Rotary Club, on the finance committee of her church, Antioch Georgetown, and on the advisory board of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
