“Red Poppies in Bloom”, made of glass and metal and standing 8 feet tall, was commissioned in 2019 by the City of Georgetown’s Convention & Visitors Bureau in collaboration with the Georgetown Arts & Culture Board to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Red Poppy Festival. The artist, Gail Allard, is the owner and lead artist at Salado Glassworks. His signature hand-blown glass pieces are a wonderful representation of Georgetown’s red poppy.
