ARTIST RECEPTION

Baron’s intricate sculptural caricatures are satiric and fantastic. He places his work in the surrealist and visionary art movements. His process is intuitive, with archetypal and anthropomorphic imagery. Baron was born in Chicago in 1941 and raised in El Paso, Texas on the Mexican border. He has sculpted for some 35 years and has created more than 200 narrative bronze and cast stone figures. His recently published monograph on his sculpture is entitled Gods for Future Religions.
