Capitol Art Society Exhibit at Library

The Capitol Art Society exhibits their members’ paintings July 5-July 29, 2016 in the Georgetown Public Library’s second-floor exhibit space. Included in the exhibit will be the painting shown here by Janet Sopp-Simms.

The society was formed in 1965. It is the oldest active visual arts group in Austin, Texas. It is a juried organization of professional artists formed in 1965 to promote members’ artwork through group exhibitions and to further art appreciation in Austin. Represented are all two-dimensional media. Many members are published and in collections worldwide as well as award winners, art teachers and art demonstrators.
