The popular traveling exhibit “Dr. Seuss Wants You!” will be on display in the library Friday April 29 – Wednesday May 25 in the second floor stacks area. The 14-panel exhibition looks at Dr. Seuss’ political cartoons from 1941 through 1943, before he became the famous children’s author we know and love. Seuss hoped that his cartoons would inspire citizens to think and unite. The exhibit includes a timeline of major events in America and Europe during WWII.
This project was made possible through the generous support of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims and the Wohlgemuth Herschede Foundation. The exhibit was created by The Center for Holocaust & Humanity Education. It comes to the library in 2016 thanks to the efforts of Congregation Havurah Shalom of Sun City.
