Interview with Sculptor Dan Pogue
Q: How complicated is the transportation/assembly/installation of your piece?
A: It is made of bronze, cast at my gallery/foundry in Marble Falls. It is heavy, about 400 lbs. To transport, I use a flat bed trailer. I lay it flat on the trailer and then stand it up once we arrive at the display site. Being all in one piece, it is fairly easy to do.
Q: Where else has this piece been since you created it?
A: This piece has been displayed in other exhibits such as: Marble Falls Sculpture on Main, Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, Lampasas Sculpture Park and Downtown Bastrop Art Exhibit. I am honored to show it in Georgetown.
Q: What would you like the viewer to take way from the piece?
A: I am always interested in what others see in my work, rather than trying to explain it.
This piece is on loan to the City of Georgetown from the artist with support from the Georgetown Arts & Culture Board, and will be on exhibit through October 2018.
