Learn the basics of modern calligraphy brush lettering to start adding decorative lettering to your invitations and correspondence.
About the class: Learn the basics of brush lettering modern calligraphy with Amanda Reid Designs in this live, interactive workshop for beginners! In this workshop experience you will be learning an introduction to BRUSH LETTERING with brush pens with 2 hours of instruction and live demonstration from a professional calligrapher. We will cover the basics and get you ready to add unique lettered details to all of life’s special occasions. Brush Lettering is the perfect special touch to your snail mail, wedding details, custom quotes, gifts and more! You will love this therapeutic art form and will be able to use your new skills to create some happiness and pretty letters!

Beginner Brush Lettering Kit (Tombow Brush Pen, Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen, paper, Brush Lettering Practice Worksheets)
2-hr instruction & demonstration from professional calligrapher
Learn the basic modern calligraphy strokes, alphabet, and connecting letters

About the instructor: Amanda Reid is a modern calligrapher, workshop instructor, and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is the owner of Amanda Reid Designs, a modern calligraphy studio based in Austin, TX that specializes in providing modern calligraphy and engraving services for events and brands. Amanda also shares her passion for calligraphy with others by hosting fun, interactive workshops to teach aspiring letterers how to use brush pens and/or dip pen and ink.
Amanda is also the founder of Calligraphers of Color, an inclusive online community that provides resources for and highlights minority calligraphers and their businesses. Calligraphers of Color was founded in July 2019, after Amanda noticed the lack of diversity in the calligraphy industry
