The City’s Planning Department has joined with the Georgetown Public Library to host an informal webinar series named Tuesday Talks with Britin and Ann. The webinars will feature different topics covering Georgetown’s history lead by Georgetown Downtown and Historic Planner Britin Bostick and Reference Librarian Ann Evans.
May is National Preservation Month!
This month, we will be celebrating Building Birthday Parties for some of our iconic historic buildings that are reaching landmark birthdays! Tuesday Talks will be held each Tuesday in May from noon-1:00pm, please join us virtually and stay tuned for additional celebration details!

- May 4 at 12pm: Celebrate the 110th birthdays of the (5th) Williamson County Courthouse and the Farmers State Bank (home to the Williamson Museum), with a look back at their histories.
- May 11 at 12pm: Celebrate the 90th birthday of the historic Post Office building downtown and dive into the history of mail in Georgetown!
- May 18 at 12pm: Celebrate the 130th birthday of the Mileham Building and the 135th birthday of 213 W. 8th Street, two of the oldest buildings in downtown!
- May 25 at 12pm: Celebrate the 125th birthday of the M.B. Lockett Building and the 120th birthday of the P.H. Dimmit Building and learn how these buildings got their names!
