Shruti’s art work spans a wide range from rural life, ethnic women, festivals and seasons, to landscapes and abstract art. She likes to create fusion of regional art styles from India with western art styles. Shruti captures her expansive vision through a variety of mediums such as oil, acrylic and mixed media. She includes elements of realism, modernism, and then adds her own perspective in her paintings.

Shruti also has passion for teaching art. She completed her Spring 2021 Emerging Teaching Artist Fellowship cohort coordinated by City of Austin, Mindpop, AISD. She has served as a jury for curated and juried art exhibits. Her art piece has been selected for the People’s Gallery, City Hall in Austin, March 2020 to January 2022 and again this year in 2022 she has her art work at the People’s Gallery. Shruti’s solo exhibit was hosted by City of Austin at the Asian American Resource center, October 4-December 14, 2019. Her artwork has been exhibited at several venues in the Austin area.

In December 2020, Decibel ATX, Austin PBS, made a short movie on Shruti’s art styles and her journey as an artist.
