Stuart Simpson and Mary Paige Huey: Carved in Stone x2

December 3-January 5, first floor Lobby

Artists’ Talk: Sunday, Dec. 5, 2-2:30 p.m., second floor Hewlett Room
Reception: Sunday, Dec. 5, 2:30-4 p.m. first floor Lobby

Stuart Simpson was a high school student when he began taking Mary Paige Huey’s stone carving classes at Laguna Gloria museum in Austin.  More than 30 years later, Stuart’s career is dedicated to architectural and sculptural limestone carving. He and Mary Paige have reconnected through their mutual love of sculpture and mutual admiration of one another to present this two-person exhibit, “Carved in Stone x2.”

Their styles are as different as their ages, which will make for an interesting show! The exhibit will be in the first floor Lobby of the Georgetown Public Library Dec. 3-Jan. 5. On Sunday, Dec. 5 from 2-2:30 an artists’ talk will be held in the library’s second floor Hewlett Room, followed by a reception in the Lobby.
