‘It’s All About the Lights’ is a one-person show by local artist LaWann Tull. It is a multi-subject exhibit centered on emotion and contains dramatic light and atmospheric effects leading the viewer’s eyes through the artwork. The exhibit is composed of new and some retrospective paintings of animals, people, still life, and landscapes.

“I paint the things I most deeply respond to and have been described as a whimsical and romantic painter using bold color. During a recent show in Italy a guest likened my paintings to being in a dream which thrilled me! I paint idealism to stimulate the imagination. My art is set apart from most oil painters by my use of an indirect technique from the Old Master’s that creates depth, glow and colors mixed optically that don’t exist in a tube.”

LaWann Tull is a native Texan and resides in the hill country that she loves outside of Georgetown.

“I grew up in West Texas and following graduation I landed my dream job as a sales agent for two international airlines. Exposure to art museums worldwide and scenery that only seemed to exist in the movies has influenced my style and artistic expression. Italy is my favorite destination of mine to return to study. I have been influenced and painted with some of the most notable artists and teachers in the nation including Daniel E. Greene, David Chiefetz, Vie Dunn-Harr, Lajos Markos, William Henry Earle, Dick Turner and Georgetown’s own infamous artist, Dalhart Windberg.”
