Singer-Songwriter Rick Furst
Rick Furst is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose career has spanned years in Boston, Chicago, New York, Albuquerque, Syracuse and now Austin. His melodic and harmonically rich songs celebrate positive values, unheralded heroes and the human struggle for freedom and happiness. His life-affirming songs of many genres speak to the times and span many styles. His songs feature uplifting, soaring and memorable melodies. From his celebration of the heroes at the Alamo (including rarely-mentioned Tejanos allies of Davey Crockett, et. al, such as Juan Seguin), to the brave Ukrainian Freedom Fighters (in the upcoming new song of his, “To Be A Freedom Fighter (A Song for the Ukraine)”), to his tragic romance with a world-famous singer (in the upcoming “Our Tragic Love Affair”), to his life-affirming song for a suicidal friend, “My Dear Friend,” Rick’s songs lift up his listeners, and help them make sense of this crazy world we live in.
