Set against the backdrop of an abandoned house on stilts, the sculpture symbolizes the ultimate quest for a sense of ‘home’ within ourselves. As you engage with these artworks, you’ll find yourself navigating a visual and emotional terrain, much like the intricate network of stairs and ladders leading to the house’s elevated vantage point. Each step invites introspection and self-discovery, offering the opportunity to map out your unique route to a profound understanding of your own ‘homecoming.’
“As an interdisciplinary artist, my work explores the intricacies of human connection through a variety of mediums. With over 20 years of experience in digital art direction from my previous career in advertising, I now infuse traditional art techniques with digital technology to create my work. Through wood and metal sculpture, photo-composite, augmented reality, and social practice, my artwork aims to evoke a sense of empathy and understanding in its viewers. Originally from the Midwest, I spent most of my adult life in New York City before setting up my studio in 2015 the creative hub of Austin, where I currently live and work.” Caroline Walker
